How to Climb Kilimanjaro - Which Route is Best for You

There are seven routes leading to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro namely Marangu, Rongai, Lemosho, Shira, Umbwe, Machame and the Northern Circuit. All routes except Marangu use tents for overnight accommodation. On the way to Marangu, accommodation is in a mountain lodge. Marangu is the closest route that takes about five days to reach and descend, while other routes take a minimum of six days. Each method has its pros and cons and each should be carefully considered when deciding which method is best for you.
