  1. Top 10 Graphic Editing Mistakes: The mistakes to avoid when handling graphic design

  2. There are plenty of graphic design ideas out there. But, if you are looking to get the best results, then you need professional help. It isn't just about having great graphic design skills, though. It's also about knowing the mistakes to avoid when handling graphic design. This slide looks at the top 10 mistakes that you should always avoid when handling graphic design. 1. Involve a professional in the design and editing of your graphic designs There are a lot of people out there that are extremely talented with Adobe Photoshop and other graphic design programs. There's also a lot of people that aren't so talented. If you don't have the time to learn graphic design, it's better to hire a professional to do it for you. If you don't, you might end up making one of these 10 common mistakes. It's not that they are hard to avoid, they're just things that many people aren't aware of and aren't thinking about. For example, many people forget that the colors they see on their computer screens are not accurate to the colors of the real world. It's a mistake that takes a lot of practice to get right, which is why it's better to hire a professional with the right software.

  3. 2. Avoid using too many design elements Too many design elements is one of the most common mistakes of graphic design and it is a frequent error of enthusiastic graphic designers. If you are designing a logo for a new business that you want to stand out of the crowd, you will want to use a lot of elements and a lot of colors. But if you are designing a brochure or a website that needs to be read and understood, you will want to use fewer elements and fewer colors. The more elements you use, the more work you are putting on the eyes of your viewers, and the more work you are putting on your viewers, the less likely they are to stay on your website for a long time. Therefore, you want to use only elements that serve a function. 3. Avoid using too much text Text is the most fundamental element in graphic design, and it’s important to use it wisely. Too much of it will overwhelm the artwork and the viewer. If you want to add text, keep it short and simple. If you want to emphasize a specific image, use a large text box to draw attention to the image and keep other text short. Remember, good design is about properly balancing all elements.

  4. 4. Make sure your design is easy to read One of the most common mistakes in graphic design is using too many graphics. While visuals are important, they shouldn't be used to the detriment of the content. It's important to ensure that your writing is easy to read and that your images aren't so busy that they overwhelm the reader. The rule of thumb here is that your graphics should serve the content, not the other way around. 5. Make sure your design communicates the purpose of your material One of the most common mistakes people make when creating graphics for their business is not considering the purpose of the graphic. If a graphic is going to be used for promotion, it should have a call-to-action. If it is simply going to be used to post on your social media, it should have a way for people to share it. If you are a business, your graphic should have your business information on it. The purpose of a graphic is to communicate. If the purpose is not clear, the graphic is useless. I recently saw a graphic for a business that was just a logo on a solid background. There was no information about the business, no phone number, nothing. I had no idea what the graphic meant or how to contact the business.

  5. 6. Make sure your design is simple and lacks any extra information that distracts from the main point Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. - Leonardo da Vinci A design that is simple and clear is always better than one that's overly complicated and hard to understand. There are lots of different ways to achieve simplicity. For example, in your design, you can use fewer fonts and colors, stick to one or two fonts, and use a limited color palette. You can also stick to a single font size and make sure that the text is easy to read. In a nutshell, simplicity is in the details. Also, remember that simplicity doesn't mean that your design has to be boring or plain. It's just that it's easier to read and understand. Keep it simple. 7. Make sure your design is professional and individual People often have a hard time explaining the difference between design and art, especially since the two are so closely related. Design is a lot more than just looking good; it’s about looking good and serving a purpose. In order to create a design that’s truly unique, you need to create something that’s not just beautiful, but also functional. Otherwise, you’re just making art, not graphic design. The best way to ensure that your design is effective is to make it your own. Once you’ve got a good grasp on the fundamentals, throw out all your rules and just start designing.

  6. 8. Make sure your design is consistent and uniform One of the most essential parts of any design is to make it consistent and uniform. The combination of colors and fonts is important for the design to maintain a nice flow. If you are designing a logo, you need to make sure that the color of the logo is consistent with the brand. It is also important to make sure that the design is done with the right colors that blend well with the logo. Bad use of colors can ruin your design and make it look inconsistent and unprofessional. Make sure you have a good eye for colors and that you know how to use them in a way that they can make the design look better. 9. Make sure your design fits the audience you are reaching The purpose of your graphic design will determine the audience you are aiming to reach. If you are targeting a college audience, your design will be different than if you are targeting a more mature adult audience. It is important to remember that the graphic design you use in your logo, business cards and other marketing materials can also make a lasting impression on your potential customers.

  7. 10. Make sure your design makes optimal use of white space Graphic design is not just about making your design look good. It's about giving your design a functional purpose. That is why you should always make sure your design makes optimal use of white space – the negative space that is left inside the layout of your design. White space is left blank or is used for text. It is used as a way to separate different elements of design. It's also used as a way to show contrast between elements. White space is one of the most important elements of design because it gives the viewer a place to rest their eyes. It gives the viewer a break from the busy visuals. It allows the viewer to process the information that is being presented. If you use too much white space, you clutter the page and if you don't use enough white space, you overwhelm the viewer with information. It is important to understand the power of white space and how it can help your design. We hope you enjoyed our slide’s article about graphic editing mistakes.
