His earlier work involved defense projects, where he honed his skills in designing (g/)technology for tanks and missiles. Arriving at Graphene with no background in Artificial Intelligence, Sandeep expected a three-month buffer to settle in. Instead, he was thrust into the spotlight within a week of joining. With just seven days to conjure an Artificial Intelligence roadmap, Sandeep’s jaw dropped faster than a lead balloon. He had to figure out stuff on the fly and break with convention (or accepted wisdom) to achieve goals, such as building a team with no seniors, only freshers. But here’s the twist – at Graphene, challenges are met head-on with a roll-up-your- sleeves mentality. The company’s culture was enabling, expecting the team to meet outsized goals in insanely short times. Frequent brainstorming and zig-zags were the norm to achieve small goals quickly. This environment was perfect for those who thrive on challenges. Overcoming one hurdle puts you on the doorstep of a bigger one, a mindset Graphene fosters and rewards. Cue the impromptu brainstorming session that birthed the elusive roadmap in a power-packed hour. Sandeep stood tall, navigating the uncharted waters of particle physics meets artificial intelligence with gusto. Natural Language Processing (NLP) ignited a fire within Sandeep. It was a domain ripe with innovation and untapped potential, a stark contrast to the confines of his previous ventures.
