  2. LIFE SPAN • Ellen Ochoa was born in “Las Mesa, California” in 1958. • Received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from “San Diego State University” in 1980 • Master of Science degree and Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from “Stanford University”(1981-1985 respectively).

FACTS & EXPLORATION 2 Interesting facts: • She was the 1st female Hispanic to be a Astronaut. • She’s also a classical flutist and private pilot Important Scientific Exploration: • Was a member of the OSA(Optical Society of America) • STS-56 ATLAS-2 of Discovery, was her 9 day mission with/during the crew conducted atmospheric and social studies.
