  1. Inviting investors to participate in a unique initiative to build a new economy… HydCubator Program to help young entrepreneurs to establish technically sound and efficiently managed profitable startups in India

HydCubator - The concept The HydCubator is a catalyst equipped to provide the core ingredients for entrepreneurs working on a niche idea – the support will be in the form of a seed fund, a hub or common office area, mentorship in business development and technology and access to networking events. The HydCubator program is the commitment from the startup evangelists, venture capitalists, mentors and academic institutions to support entrepreneurs.

  3. Objective To enable business, technology, product definition, marketing and business-planning support for entrepreneurs The HydCubator program will bring in commitment from the startup evangelists, venture capitalists, mentors and academic institutions to support entrepreneurs.

  4. Differentiators of HydCubator • A technology business incubator positioned geographically in the industry hub in Hyderabad. • Access to cutting edge research labs at IIITH, HCU and top-notch management schools like ISB • Seed funding mechanism into startups, through strategic partnership with investors. • Complete infrastructural support. • Incubator is managed by a team which offers VAS like market-research, business planning, customer linkage and technical strategy.

  5. Deployment Model Selected teams will avail a 60 day residential camp at IIIT-H during the summer. Two workshops will be conducted covering product development, marketing, brand and business planning. The camp will be followed by 6 month support from the HydCubator team. Each team will be assigned one or two committed mentors for the total 8 month duration. Each selected team will be seed funded to cover incidental expenses (living) for upto Rs 5,00,000.

Selection Process Who can qualify: Early stage startups With a version of their product or just starting up A call for nominations will be issued for each instance of the program Qualification process A review panel will assess all nominations. Initial Short listed entries will be slated for further interactions (email, phone or in-person). The finalists will be given a chance to present their idea at an event in Hyderabad ( like the ITsAP, Nasscom or TiE events). The winners will be inducted into the camp and avail seed fund.

  8. Funding Request • The program is to be funded by the eco-system • (VCs, Angels, Innovation funds, Government agencies)

Fund utilization • The seed fund to the startup/entrepreneurs team will be used mainly for living and basic equipment like laptops & mobile phone or any other software or hardware. • The organizers (IIIT-H) fund will be used for workshops, events, reference material and conducting preliminary market research.

  10. Value to Investors Nurture the innovation eco-system The HydCubator is a great opportunity for investors to make a big difference with small financial commitment. An opportunity to nurture brilliant young minds and help shape a new economy. Share upside Invest a minimum of Rs5,00,000 in each selected team, hold small equity and nurture the startup. The angel investor has the first right to consider any of the incubates for further investment. Its a well calculated and programmed risk with high socio-economic returns….
