Web-study Login Before entering the study you will be asked for some details including: Your institution and country of practice Whether you are a clinician or radiologist How long you have been working in CJD Observers will be emailed a username and password Find the web-site at: www.neuroimage.co.uk Use your username and password to login

  3. Joblist You will be sent scans in batches of jobs (Each batch contains 10 jobs) Each job includes all of the MRI sequences available for that patient You will receive five batches of scans in total You will be notified by email when a new batch of scans has been issued Scans will appear in your joblist when they are available for review

  4. Thumbnail (Overview) On selecting a job you will initially see the Thumbnail view of the images The images are arranged by sequence (ie T2, FLAIR, DWI) This page can provide and initial overview prior to entering the main image-viewer Click on an image to enter the viewer at that level and its sequence

  5. Image viewer The dark upper part of the screen is the image viewer The blue bottom part of the screen contains the study questions You can click on area between them to adjust the proportions of these areas on the screen

  6. Image viewer settings The box at the top of the screen can be used to alter the contrast and dimensions of the main image Many observers may choose not to alter these from their predetermined levels

  7. Change sequence and settings This box can be used to reset the settings to their initial level The MRI sequences can be changed here (i.e between T2 and FLAIR or Diffusion weighted imaging) There is one set of study questions for each patient You can move between sequences while answering the questions

  8. Image viewer You can move backwards and forwards between the images in each sequence The viewer shows the next and previous images alongside the main image You can also chose the light box viewer here by clicking on preview here

  9. Light box viewer Images can be viewed as if they were film on a light-box viewer if preferred This view can be entered by either clicking on preview or selecting the thumbnail view from the sequence options in the right upper corner of the screen

  10. Anatomy We have provided anatomical diagrams to illustrate the regions of interest We have provided some example images of the severity score for thalamic and basal ganglia high signal

  11. Study Questions The questions are arranged by anatomical region You will first be asked to record the regions of any altered signal, then the severity You will then be asked your overall diagnostic impression and view on which MRI sequence provided most information

  12. Scan feedback You can record whether there were any other abnormalities on the scan You can record any other feedback

  13. Summary page • This page summarises your responses from each patient • Once you click to submit your results this patients review will be completed • You will not be able to change your responses once they have been submitted
