  2. What does the economic system do? • Well, Georgia’s economic system is very essential to the state’s success. It promotes businesses to come to Georgia. Without our economic system, our large cities would not be functional. The economic system creates business in Georgia by offering benefits and tax cuts to businesses that would not be in Georgia otherwise. This brings more opportunities to other businesses and brings tax dollars into the state, with benefits everyone.

  3. How much money is spent on the economy in Georgia? • 1.4% of the state budget is spent on the economy. This often causes controversy within the people. This causes controversy, because people believe that a larger amount of money should be spent on the economy, considering it is the most source of income for the state.

  4. Departments within the economy • Department of Economic Development (DED)- helps promote GA as a place for businesses to come and thrive. • Georgia Ports Authority- this organization helps to maintain the deep-water and barge ports of Georgia. They help manage the ports, and they keep them functioning.
