  16. In The Past 4 Years We Established an ambassador team which provides 26,000 business recommendations to 200,000 visitors annually driving business to our members doors. Developed integrated city marketing programmes bringing city businesses, Failte Ireland, City Council and the transport companies together to target the domestic and international market showcasing city businesses with Dine in Dublin, Dublin Fashion Festival, Dublin at Christmas & New Year and Unique to Dublin while providing Christmas lights to 30 streets.

  17. In The Past 4 Years We Successfully lobbied against inappropriately placed social services such as a 15,000 sq. ft. prisoner rehabilitation service and homeless services planned for the city’s commercial district. Worked on behalf of businesses with the Gardaí on curbing anti-social behaviour and organised begging and secured legislation to outlaw aggressive begging and the closure of head shops. Developed an immediate response cleaning service for members and created a graffiti free environment in the city centre while ensuring that Dublin City Council delivered on its commitment to the city traders through our baseline

  18. In The Next 5 Years We Will Increase footfall and revenues by appealing to commuters and the suburban population with effective integrated marketing of the total city offering, loyalty schemes, and by making the enjoyment of the city an easy choice. Improve consumers night time experience and gain international Purple Flag accreditation for the city. We will enhance our night time information and cleaning crews, tackle evening begging and promote outdoor seating on wider footpaths and pedestrianised streets.

  19. In The Next 5 Years We Will Fight to ensure that there are no new social services established in the city’s commercial core. We will actively support Pathways to Home and National Drug Strategy objectives of providing drug and homeless services within local community contexts facilitating the downsizing of current city centre services. Ensure that over the course of the next term that BID promoted schemes provide significant savings and ensure that the BID is at least cost neutral to our members. Strengthen commercial centre management skills in the city, develop area brands, reduce vacancies with appropriate new businesses and making it easier for customers to access the city by all transport means, find parking and explore the commercial districts.
