Lessons Learned (so far) • Balance is key. • The availability of a stationary hand rail is an important piece of the design. • The stair will need to rise smoothly and evenly (some type of guides?). • Going up and down are different problems. • Bus drivers won’t admit to wanting something faster (“I would never rush a passenger.”) • Contrary to initial belief, having one foot/cane on the upper step while the lower step rises feels more stable
