  2. Adjectives An adjective is a word that describes a noun. Adjectives tell what kind or how many. Adjectives may be written before the noun they describe or after a linking verb.

  3. Adverbs Adverbs describe verbs. They tell how, when, or where something happens. Most adverbs that tell how end in ly. Adverbs are not always written near the verbs they describe.
