Irradiation, Storage, Expedition…..in 2003 • 1992 Hours of proton irradiation (83 Days) (85 ‘04) • 2424 Hours of neutron irradiation (101 Days) (60 ‘04) • 579 Samples irradiated and traced • 377 Dosimetry with Ge spectrometer • 202 Dosimetry with NaI spectrometer • 65 Users from 30 institutes • 55 Expeditions all over the world(T @-5oC) • 30 Dosimetry with Si detector • 5 Different places for storage (Low T < -20ºC) PH-TA1-SD meeting 27-2-2004

  4. Dosimetry and beam profiling Gafchromic dosimetric Films: We characterized different types for dose measurement and beam profiling. MD-55 HD-810 XR - Type HIGH SENSITIVITY MEASUREMENTS 6cm XR Film exposure of the beam after a few bunches of 42 ns. VERY USEFUL FOR SPECIAL IRRADIATIONS PH-TA1-SD meeting 27-2-2004

Otheractivities 2003 • Complicated irradiation and dosimetry: CMS ECAL crystals and fast extraction tests for CMS Beam Condition Monitor • Summer Student (K.Visser) - NaI spectrometer software • New storage facilities for radioactive material 2003/2004 • New control hardware for the two shuttle systems • Online database for certificates of outside institutes to handle radioactive material • Development of a radiation monitoring system for CMS and other LHC experiments (several publications submitted) • Laser systems for semiconductor detector testing 2004 • New neutron irradiation zone (PSAIF) • Scenario for taking over the T8 beam line in the PS East Hall (DIRAC experiment) in 2006 PH-TA1-SD meeting 27-2-2004
