  1. Glowing Christmas Ideas Christmas is fast approaching so why not create some glowing crafts with these really simple ideas using Glow in the Dark Powder. Glow in the dark powder can be used to create just about anything including glow paint and resin. For a run down on how to use the powder, head over to the FAQ’s page on the Glowing Gecko website. Here a just a couple of tips: ✓ Don’t use metal containers or stirring implements; ✓ When using water based mediums, you will get a much better result using the encapsulated powder. Otherwise the standard powder is fine; ✓ Have fun. T-shirts Grab some fabric paint (white preferably, or a very pale colour). If you are painting on black as we’ve done here you’ll need a thicker paint, or just apply a few layers. This way you’ll get the most intense glow. Otherwise, use a white shirt. Cut out the shape you want – we used baking paper but you can use cardboard or tape. We also slipped some cardboard in between the fabric so it wouldn’t stick together. We sponged the paint on and added little dots for ornaments. Not Picasso, but you get the idea. This one was ironed over with a light setting using baking paper and then washed. The image below was taken after hanging outside to dry.

  2. Tree Ornaments I absolutely love creating glowing resin pieces. I typically use a rubber mould (used for soaps and ice) as they tend to release easily. I also use resin from Just Resin. Use a fine or medium particle size glow powder and stir just before pouring. We use around 30grams per 100ml of resin.

  3. These pretty little stars were created in two steps using two different colours of resin. We also added in some glitter. We used a ½ mm drill bit to create the little holes to thread glitter string through. Some more ideas from the world wide web “Santa Stop!”

  4. Santa always needs a little extra help to find the house of all the good boys and girls. And what better way to help him during his night time flight than with a glow in the dark sign. Mix around 30grams of coarse particle size glow powder with white paint and apply to your makeshift sign. We used a water based paint and encapsulated powder. Adding powder can make the paint very thick so add a little water to make it easier to paint on. For more ideas, take a look at our Facebook page.
