    1. Enhancing Patient Welfare: Interprofessional Health Education Through Simulation Interprofessional Suctioning Module: Endotracheal Suctioning -developed to give introduction as everything happens quickly and unable to slow things down with a real patient for a learner to have time to practice all the steps -very basic overview -allow practice on the mannequiin before touching a real patient -developed to give introduction as everything happens quickly and unable to slow things down with a real patient for a learner to have time to practice all the steps -very basic overview -allow practice on the mannequiin before touching a real patient

    3. Optional Equipment: -ECG monitor -pulse oximeter -sterile sputum trap for culture specimen -closed suction system -oxygen insufflation device -how many have seen a GA? -manually ventilated a patient? -intubated a patient? -given drugs through an IV?-how many have seen a GA? -manually ventilated a patient? -intubated a patient? -given drugs through an IV?

    5. Suctioning Setup in Hospital/Clinic

    7. Vacuum Regulator -once the patient is unconcious then the next thing to do is to……. -MUST have everything ready and prepared PRIOR to induction….. -even if preoxygenation has occurred the patient may desaturate quickly LMA if spontaneous breathing ETT to secure airway, manually ventilate and protect from aspiration-once the patient is unconcious then the next thing to do is to……. -MUST have everything ready and prepared PRIOR to induction….. -even if preoxygenation has occurred the patient may desaturate quickly LMA if spontaneous breathing ETT to secure airway, manually ventilate and protect from aspiration

    8. Tools: 0.9% sterile NaCl, sterile cup, gloves, sputum cup, normal saline, mucogel, tonsil tip, catheter, syringe -think of why you are giving the drugs that are given…-think of why you are giving the drugs that are given…

    9. Suction catheter/tonsil tip -this is just the usual sequence of events -during the AM you will get experience with eack of the separate skills on the part task trainers -put them together in sequence -separate session applying your knowledge and working as a team in a scenario -this is just the usual sequence of events -during the AM you will get experience with eack of the separate skills on the part task trainers -put them together in sequence -separate session applying your knowledge and working as a team in a scenario
