  2. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Welcome to our Virtual Wiki-Classroom Visit us anytime at www.gate2learning.pbworks.com

  3. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Explain in your own words what happens on the classroom Wiki-workspace. In the wiki we download work sheets and data. We used to comment the weather.

  4. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio I use Performance Based Objectives in GATE. PBOs are important because they tell you what needs to be done, They help you guide you to your goals.

  5. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio I use Language Based Objectives in GATE. LBOs are important because you cannot translate with one another.

  6. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Red Light Thinking? Red light thinking it is when you collect evidence and facts. Example: A ball is round .It can bounce really high. We can too.

  7. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Yellow Light Thinking? Yellow light thinking is when you write down collected evidence, and answer too. • Example: What are Uranus' rings made of? • Ice and rock

  8. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Green Light Thinking? Green light thinking is when you ask what ifs. Example: What if…. Uranus and Earth positions were switched. Uranus was the third planet and Earth was the seventh planet. What would Earth look like? What would Uranus look like?

  9. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Why is our GATE Student Checklist important? Our student checklist is important because it tells you what to do as soon as possible so You don’t need to raise your hand and ask what to do next.

  10. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Critical Thinking Shapes This product is I think a jewel on a ring. I created it by connecting lines because there's a small one and you have to make it twice as big.

  11. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio GATE Student Journal • Entry thirteen • Date: 4/10/2012 • Academic Goal Reflection-How are you doing in your academic goals? • Personal Goal Reflection-How are you doing in your personal goals? • If you were the President of the United States of America, what improvements would put in place for our country? • My academic goals are fine but some how I take an hour on my three digit math. My personal goals the book is missing so I can’t read it. If I was the president of the united states of America manage to keep the budget swell. I would also hire more army, and lower some taxes but not all . the taxes it will be is the market and my special speech will be.. “In America we could do anything can is in American and you could change the word !” and keep robbers away and hackers and other bad people.

  12. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Solar Systems Name the eight planets in orders. Post a graphic of your favorite planets.

  13. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Solar Systems Post ten facts you learned about the Solar Systems.

  16. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Weather Report

  17. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Weather Report What is a cold front? A cold front is defined as the leading edge of a cooler mass of air What is a warm front? A warm front is a density discontinuity located at the leading edge of a homogeneous warm air mass, and is typically located on the equator-facing edge of an isotherm gradient. What is a stationary front? A stationary front is a boundary between two different air masses, neither of which is strong enough to replace the other. On a weather map, this is shown by an inter-playing series of blue spikes pointing one direction and red domes pointing the other.

  18. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Hurricane Facts • One of nature's most destructive forces, a hurricane that reaches the shore can cause enormous damage to life and property, precipitating Here's how a hurricane works: A tropical storm begins to brew over the ocean. As it makes contact with warm ocean waters — if the temperature of the water is above 26.5 degrees Celsius (80 Fahrenheit) — the storm's heat and energy intensify. Winds rotate counterclockwise around a calm center (the "eye"). When the sustained speed of the winds reaches 74 mi (119 km) per hour, the storm is officially classified as a hurricane. (The term applies to storms which occur over the N Atlantic Ocean, the NE Pacific Ocean east of the dateline, or the S Pacific Ocean. The same storm occurring over the NW Pacific Ocean west of the dateline is called a typhoon; one occurring over Australia and the Indian Ocean is a tropical cyclone, but the winds rotate clockwise.)

  19. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Tornado Facts A tornado is a violently rotating column of air that is in contact with both the surface of the earth and a cumulonimbus cloud or, in rare cases, the base of a cumulus cloud. They are often referred to as twisters or cyclones although the word cyclone is used in meteorology, in a wider sense, to name any closed low pressure circulation. Tornadoes come in many shapes and sizes, but they are typically in the form of a visible condensation funnel, whose narrow end touches the earth and is often encircled by a cloud of debris and dust. Most tornadoes have wind speeds less than 110 miles per hour (177 km/h), are about 250 feet (76 m) across, and travel a few miles (several kilometers) before dissipating.

  20. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Introducing my GATE Teacher My GATE teacher is a very nice person. He is a genius. All the students are very smart. Mr. Lewis is too.

  21. G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Why is GATE important to you? GATE is important to me because you learn new things, and it is not boring. It means a lot to me. I would like to be in it next year.
