Enjoined(v.): • instruct or urge (someone) to do something • The code enjoined members to trade fairly.
Tenuous(adj.): • very weak or slight. • The tenuous link between interest rates and investment made buyers concerned.
Acculturated(v.): • assimilate or cause to assimilate a different culture • A lot of people acculturate to the Americanway of life.
Circuitous(adj.): • (of a route or journey) longer than the most direct way. • We took circuitous route to the airport as to avoid the massive traffic jam on the highway.
Seditious(adj.): • inciting or causing people • to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch • Several dissidents were jailed for leading protests that the government branded as seditious.
Wheedle(v.) • employ endearments or flattery to persuade • someone to do something or give one something. • He wheedled quite a bit of money from her.
Commiserate(v.): • express or feel sympathy or pity; sympathize. • The players commiserated over their loss in the championship game.
Vitriolic(adj.): • filled with bitter criticism or malice. • His speech was full of political vitriol.
