  1. Ask the Gray Wolf Jayden W. Tristan P.

  2. Introduction • Name of animal: Gray Wolf • Scientific Name of animal: Canis Lupus • Vertebrate or Invertebrate: vertebrate • Class of animal: mammal • Other names of animal: Timber wolf and Tundra wolf

  3. What important adaptations does the gray wolf have? I have a lot of important adaptations. First hand, we wolves have extra sharp teeth to chew meat, and to carry things like our babies. But that’s not all, we have a keen sense of smell. We use it to find our prey or predator, to figure out what something is, and to smell food. These adaptations are really important to us or we can survive.

  4. Do Gray Wolves live anywhere besides New York State? I live in Northern America, Europe, Africa, Russia, Asia, and Middle East. I also live in Plains ,Great Lakes, Rocky Mountains ,North West, Eastern Canada, Western Canada, and Alaska. They do not live in forest or deserts. I do live in many places.

  5. Food Chain

  6. What is our food chain and what is our diet? What is our food chain? Well, we wolves prefer to eat caribou, deer, elk, moose, bison (our prey.) But, the bear is kind of our predator and prey because sometimes bear eat us and sometimes we eat bears. Now for the diet. We wolves try to stay between 30-80 (kg.) Our height can be between 35-52 (cm.) Last, our length can be as long as 1.0- 1.3 (m.) We are so big that we are the largest wild canis. So that is the diet of the wolf.

  7. How Are Baby Wolves Born And What Do They Look like? I am born from live birth because I am a mammal. I am born In a den. I look like a ball of fur when they are born. I weigh 1 pound. My eyes are closed tile I am 12 days old. The babies always stay and let the male Gray Wolf hunt for the food so they can eat.

  8. How does a wolf protect itself and what harms a wolf? We wolves have 2 defensive adaptations. Wolves have their sharp claws to scratch it’s prey, and to dig up dirt to make dust so the predator can’t find the wolf. We also have sharp teeth to bite the prey or predator. We use it to snarl at our prey or predator so they get scared and run away. What harms us? Well, when the humans settled in, they would take us, kill us, and eat us. So that is how we protect ourselves and how we are harmed.

  10. Interesting Facts about Gray Wolves Most of the times packs contain up to 5-10 family members. Their favorite food is deer. The male wolves always hunt and the female stays and protects the babies. Baby wolves have their eyes closed tile they are 12 days old. Anywhere they live they are born in a Den.

  11. What normal adaptations are on our bodies and what do we do most of the time? Well, us wolves have a couple adaptations. First, we all have narrow chests. Next we have pliable paws which are good for walking. Now the next thing is what we do most of the time. We mostly roam tirelessly in search of large prey. And those things we said are what we wolves have and do.
