Internet 2 - Defined • Universities among first to outgrow Internet’s bandwidth limitations • Joined with government and industry partners to create the University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development (UCAID) • Provides the U.S. research and education community with a network that satisfies their bandwidth-intensive requirements • http://www.internet2.edu/

  21. Field Trip • Washington, DC! • Visited Georgetown University’s Global Classroom • Had lunch with Jeff Curley from Our Courts • Visited the Library of Congress

  23. Summary • Developed lifelong friendships • Obtained great ideas for using Internet2 in the classroom • Feel much more comfortable using the video conferencing technology • Learned about the many sites and resources available for collaboration
