Johns Creek School Resource Links • This presentation contains links for several helpful curriculum, instruction, and assessment resources. • Most of the resources have been on KDE for some time; however, the newly released assessment items page and Kentucky Writing Handbook have just recently been updated. • Some of these documents are lengthy.

Kentucky Academic Expectations • Kentucky’s Academic Expectations are what students should know and be able to do as a result of their school experience. • The link below will take you to the Kentucky’s Learner Goals and Academic Expectations.   5. Program of Studies • The Program of Studies outlines the minimum content required for all students before graduating from Kentucky high schools. • The link below will take you to the Program of Studies for your content area. • Program of Studies

Core Content 4.1 • The Core Content is a subset of the content standards in Kentucky’s Program of Studies. • The Core Content represents the content standards that will be assessed. • The complete CCA 4.1 for your content area can be locatedat the following link: • Core Content for Assessment Version 4.1

  8. Standards Based Units of Instruction • Standards based units of study are outlines or plans that help students and teachers organize instruction in meaningful ways. • The link below will take you to the “How to Design a SBU.” • How to Develop a Standards-Based Unit of Study

Performance Level Descriptors • Performance Level Descriptors define what we mean when we say a student has performed at the "novice," "apprentice," "proficient" or "distinguished" level. • Performance Level Descriptors clarify for teachers, students and parents how we evaluate student work, and they explain for students what we expect of them. • The link below will take you to the Performance Level Descriptors for your content area. • Student Performance Standards
