Why these questions? • In order to know if the rights are progressing and the WCY’s living conditions are improving • To make effective follow-up of AWCY at both national and international level • To make adults understand the importance of our movement The questionnaire has been elaborated and tested by the Executive Managerial Group

  3. whoanswered the questions in 2011/2012 ? • 6348 WCY • 1491 parents or workshop’s masters • 1587 grassroots groups • 118 Associations • 21 countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea.Bissau, Ivory-Coast, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, Togo, RDC, Rwanda, Senegal, Uganda, Zimbabwe).

Activities of WCY • Training or apprenticeshipin workshops or training centres : sewing, carpentry, mechanic, welding, shoemaking, tailor, transport, plomber… • Individual jobs : all sort of sale, headresssing, clothing, theatre-dance, sculpture, rattan, marketgardenning, porter, truck pushers, dye, shoepolishing, fishing, touts, retailer and agriculture, etc.. • Domestichelps • Jobless or housemaid(help in house chores) • Some are workingat the same time they are studentBenin, Cameroon, Chad, Senegal...

  25. Whatideas or advices do you have for AWCY? • Keep on being the voice of maltreated, exploited, abused, and vulnerable children … • Sensitize more in order to enlarge the Association to other children. • Support parents or masters in order to make children respect their duties.

  26. Some tuition … • The existence of AMWCY in order to satisfy the needs of children and youth. • The AMWCY serves as a real weapon in combatting violence, injustice and maltreatment against children. • WCY are real ways (footbridge) for recognizing child’s rights.

Recommandations … • The impact of AWCY’s action must reach a larger number of children, for many are those dreaming of a brighter future. • Communicate results to supporting organizations of AMWCY as well as autorities. • Make sure AWCY are run by children, that is to recrute more children in associations.
