ESTABLISHING SETTLEMENTS MISSIONS AND PRESIDIOS. • MOVED THE LA BAHIA MISSION AND PRESIDIO FROM GUADALUPE RIVER TO GOLIAD.

Antonio Margil de jesus • SPANISH FRANCISICAN PRIEST • FOUNDED SEVERAL MISSIONS IN EAST TEXAS INCLUDING NUESTRA SENORA DE LOS DELORAS AND SAN MIGUAL DE LOS ADAES • DUE TO PROBLEMS IN EAST TEXAS HE MOVED TO SAN ANTONIO AND FOUNDED SAN JOSE Y SAN MIGUEL. ONE OF THE FIVE MISSIONS IN SAN ANTONIO TODAY.

  7. Francisco hidalgo • PRIEST AT MISSION SAN FRANCISCO DE LOS TEJAS. • CONTACTED FRENCH CATHOLIC PRIEST TO PROVIDE RELIGIOUS SERVICES TO THE LOCAL NATIVE PEOPLE WHEN SPANISH PRIEST WERE NOT AVAILABLE. • CAUSED SPANISH TO BE SUSPICIOUS OF FRENCH COLONIZATION.
