OBJECTIVES • Self awareness; • Leadership; • Teamwork; • Commitment; • Responsibility; • Physical and mental ruggedness; • Compassion for others; • Entrepreneurial spirit; and • International perspective. This traditional Outward Bound experience focus on the development of self-awareness and inner strength. Provides rounding :

  3. APPROACH • The course will be interactive and experiential in nature. The programme uses an adventure-oriented “learning by doing” approach to meet the course objectives. • This means that the participants will at times be placed out of their comfort zones in the outdoors; they will accomplish the course objectives by doing and reviewing their experiences. • The Outward Bound achieves this by impelling people out of familiarenvironments and setting new challenges through safe but demanding adventure experiences which inspire responsibility, self-reliance, teamwork, confidence, compassion and community service.

INSTRUCTOR • Be fully immersed in the activities. • Understand self and others. • Try out and explore new roles and behaviours. • Share and discuss the experience. • Transfer the experience back to their life and at home. The instructors will provide a physically, intellectually and emotionally safe environment for the participants to: Benchmark Model

COURSE STRUCTURE • A sequential approach is taken in the design of the programme, whereby the complexity and impact of the activities would increase over time. • This is based on the underlying principle that the experience of success in the activities at each level will spur the individual and group towards success in achieving the prescribed goals of the course. • There is a high emphasis on learning through reflection and creative expressions. Opportunities are abound for participants to express their learning through the use of natural materials and elements. • At the end of the programme, participants will be invited to put up a performance depicting the learning outcomes of their course. This encourages them to take responsibility for their learning and being accountable for their actions.

  6. Adventure Learning • This part of the course offers a series of different outdoor activities to help the participants develop leadership skills, teamwork, planning, organisation, a sense of responsibility and compassion. • The activities include challenge ropes course, rock climbing, abseiling, white water rafting, urban orienteering, mountain trekking and improvised rafting. An important feature of the course is sessions where participants gather to share experiences and apply lessons learnt. • SOLO – where participants spend time alone to reflect on personal goals and directions.

  7. Three Stages Model (1) Day – 1 : Stage One: Forming the Group This phase will allow group members to: • Build and enhance relationships. • Build trust and support for each other within the group. • Create a supportive and non-threatening environment for active group participation.

  8. Three Stages Model (2) Day – 2: Stage Two: Enhancing self-confidence and perseverance. This phase will allow an individual to learn: • One can achieve more than what one perceives. • Importance of the “can do” attitude, the perseverance to tackle what seems to be difficult task and to finish what one has started. • The ability to take responsibility and the importance of commitment to a team goal.

Three Stages Model (2) Day – 3: Stage Three: Experiencing the essential elements of an effective team This phase will allow the team to experience: • The importance of goal setting as a team. • The importance of clear definition of roles in a team. • The importance of effective interpersonal and communication in problem solving and decision-making. • The importance of trusts and support in a team. • Reinforce the learning that a team can accomplish more than an individual.

COURSE FEES The course fees for the 3-day programme is charged at the following subsidised rate: • Rp, 3.000.000,- / per participant (30 participant per batch) • This course fee includes: • Pre-delivery consultation work & briefing; • Programme design; • Training equipment; • Expendable activity materials; • Meals; • 24-Medical Support; • Exclude transportation to location / camp
