  2. Where: • The baths of Diocletian were (are) located on top of the Viminal hill in Rome. (The smallest of the seven hills.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Seven_Hills_of_Rome.svg

Who, When, and Why: • The building of the baths was initiated by Emperor Maximian in 298 AD in honor of his co-emperor Diocletian. • The baths were then completed in 306 AD by Constantius after the previous emperors’ abdication. • Built, like most baths, as a recreational hangout spot: for bathing, reading, working out, or simply talking with friends.

  4.
