  2. Objectives • List the indications for a Siemans monitor • Identify key components of the Siemans monitor • Practice getting a HR, BP, and oxygen saturation using a Siemans monitor

  3. Indications • Medical emergency on Med-Surg unit • Monitor heart rhythm, BP, pulse oximetry • Administering high risk drugs, e.g. Adenosine, Cardizem

  4. Equipment • Apply all equipment first before turning the monitor on • BP cuff • Pulse oximetry • Telemetry electrodes

  5. Blue Knob

  6. Main Screen • New patient NO • Press/push blue knob to highlight NO • Turn blue knob to say YES for new patient • Push blue knob to complete

  11. NIBP • Turn blue knob till you highlight the NBP box • Push/press blue knob to display interval mode • Push Main Screen to return to main screen
