  4. The Appalachian Plateau Region is the smallest of the five regions. Smallest region 1800-2000 feet above sea level Limestone caves Deep canyons Rock formations Avg. temps. range from 36-70 degrees It is the northwestern part of the state Lookout Mountain Narrow valleys and wooded ridges Cloudland Canyon Sand Mountain Hang gliding, hiking, camping, white water rafting. The Appalachian Plateau Region
