  5. Computer-Based Tests Secure Browser- the pinwheel or the icon titled “Questar Secure Browser.

  6. Computer-Based Tests Login Tickets - includes a student’s name, NYSSIS ID, password, and test name.

  7. Computer-Based Tests NYSISS ID- on the student login ticket.

  8. Computer-Based Tests Eye Icon – Located in the password field, clicking it will allow students to view the password.

  9. Computer-Based Tests Verification Page- a student will check to their name and spelling, grade, school’s name, teacher’s name and date of birth.

  10. Computer-Based Tests Session Access Code- is the access code that will be provided to the students during the administration of the tests. Each session of the test will require a different Session Access Code. Each grade level will have a different session access code.

  11. Computer-Based Tests Proctor Pin - If a student pauses the test during administration, a proctor PIN must be entered by the proctor to allow the student to re-enter the test session. The Pin is the same for an entire building.

  12. Computer-Based Tests Drawing Tool- allows student to “draw their work” to provide an answer for math constructed responses.

  13. Computer-Based Tests Review – after the student responds to each question, they will click the review button.

  14. Computer-Based Tests Submit Test – on the review screen the student will confirm they have responded to all questions with the classroom proctor. Then the student clicks Submit test.

  15. Computer-Based Tests Submit Test – a confirmation message will appear and they will need to submit test.

  16. Computer-Based Tests Text-to-Speech– is an embedded accommodation, headsets are recommended when using this accommodation. When using this accommodation, ensure the volume on the student’s device is on, unmuted, and adjusted prior to launching the secure browser.

  17. Computer-Based Tests Answer Masking– shades responses to help students focus on their selection. • To reveal a response option, the student clicks on the crossed out eye icon next to that option. To hide a response option, the student clicks on the eye icon next to that option •

  18. Computer-Based Tests Background Color– allows the color of the background to be changed as needed. The following color options: • Black-on-pink are available: • Black-on-blue • Black-on-green • Black-on-yellow

Then they touch the mouse pad the cursor has floated to the Sign out button and kicks them out of the test. They don’t realize this and think it has timed them out. They will need the proctor & pin to log back in.
