  1. Want to extend Temporary Status in Canada? Here are some Tips! There are many alternatives available via IRCC that enable temporary residents to remain in Canada as they await a decision on their permanent residency status. Bridging Open Work Permits are available to temporary residents seeking permanent residence. It is highly beneficial for those whose work permits are about to expire. The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), for example, is a work visa that cannot be renewed or extended, but this doesn’t imply that the employees are ineligible for another work permit. For employees and students in Canada, a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is a viable alternative. However, those with a TRV are restricted from working or studying in the country. Here are some ways to extend temporary status in Canada: Work Permits – There are two basic kinds of Canadian work permits: A positive or neutral Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) –To convince the Canadian government that a foreign worker is needed to fill a vacancy, an LMIA is required. Employees aren’t responsible for the LMIA procedure; instead, employers are. After the employer receives an LMIA from EDS, the worker receives a copy of the letter from the employer. Work permits are issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). LMIA-exempt– Exemption from the LMIA applies to the majority of temporary foreign workers’ employment permits. To hire via an LMIA-exempt work permit

  2. programme, Canadian companies are required to pay a compliance fee and submit an offer of employment through IRCC’s employer portal to IRCC. Study Permit – A study permit allows you to remain in Canada. Part-time employment is permitted throughout the academic year, while full-time work is permitted during specified breaks. Once you’vereceived your letter of admission, you’ll be able to apply for a study permit in Canada. The PGWP may allow you to remain in Canada after completing your studies (if you have never had one before). Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) –Canada’s Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is the best choice for overseas students who have finished a post-graduate degree. PGWPs are available to students enrolled in programmes that are more than eight months but less than two years in duration. A three-year PGWP is available to an international student who has completed two-year programmes. Spousal Open Work Permit – If your spouse or common-law partner is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you may be able to get spousal sponsorship. The Spousal open work permit (SOWP) is available to spouses and common-law partners who are seeking sponsorship from Canada, and you may be eligible if you meet the eligibility criteria. The spouses of temporary residents may also be eligible for an open work permit in this situation. The work permit is valid for six months after the open spousal work permit is acquired and is one of the requirements for temporary foreign employees.
