  2. Arrábida mountain Near our city thereis a small mountain range where a big number of autochthonous species live. It is part of a Natural Park in which there are species like the wild cat (Felis silvestris), mongooses (Herpestes ichneumon), the badger (Meles meles), the fox (Vulpes vulpes), colonies of bats, the Bonelli’s eagle (Hieraetus fasciatus), towl’s owl (Tyto alba) and inumerous insects.   4. Since 2007, 1320 new aquatic species have been discovered between Arrábida and Sesimbra, in the Marine Park of Professor Luiz Saldanha. Professor’s Parque Marinho Anemone Galeorhinusgaleus Rostroraja alba

  7. Sado river Sado river flows in a South/North direction through 175 km from its springs in the Caldeirão hills before entering the Atlantic Ocean in an estuary in the city of Setúbal. In Setúbal, its estuary is a Natural Reserve famous for being the habitat for a large community of bottlenose dolphins.

  8. Climate changes Scientists are worried because of some terrible changes that will completely modify the life and the environment in our region, if we do nothing to avoid all kind of climate changes. They’ve predicted severe heat waves and less raining in the spring and summer. Sado’s discharge will have reduced to only 60% in 2100.

  9. Fishing land Due to an enormous quantity of marine species, thereis a great maritime tradition. The most captured species are sardines, mackerel, cuttle-fish…

  10. Nature and sport In Setúbal a lot of sports are directlylinked to the nature.
