  2. Function • The Hemic/Lymphatic System function is to filter the blood from infections and toxins that may harm you. • It creates antibodies that fight diseases • It is your body’s defense system.

  3. The Way It Works • Your blood circulates through your veins, meanwhile being filtered at certain locations, (lymph nodes) before being passed along through the rest of your body.

  4. Diseases/Treatment • Some diseases of this system includeaplastic anemia and iron-deficiency anemia. • Aplastic Anemia is when your body is not making enough blood cells to replace the ones being lost. Treatment for this is a blood transfusion or bone marrow transplant. • Iron-deficiency anemia deals with a lack of iron being consumed and stored in your body. This disease can be treated with Iron supplements. • Some other forms are lymphomas (infections involving lymph nodes) myelomas (cancerous) • Another key element to helping your lymphatic system is eating healthy.
