  1. Iconic Jewelry from Hollywood movies Even though classic Hollywood movies are best remembered for their storyline and acting performances, audiences are also mesmerized by some of the stunning jewelry on display. Here are a few examples of jewelry worn by actors decades ago. These have been continually replicated and remain a part of high fashion today.

  2. Scarlet O’Hara in Gone with the Wind • This movie of 1939 reignited the fashion of regularly wearing large pieces of jewelry which till then were usually kept aside as family heirlooms to be worn only on special occasions. Scarlet, played by Vivien Leigh wore a large brooch which had a figure riding a bird and matched it with a pair of big emerald earrings. Incidentally, the brooch belonged to the mother of the costume designer of the film.

  3. Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s • The first scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) has Audrey Hepburn as socialite Holly Golightly alighting from a taxi in front of Tiffany’s on a deserted New York street. She wears a 5-strand pearl necklace and a diamond hair ornament. So famous did this Audrey Hepburn pearl necklace become that its replicas are much in demand and in fashion even today.

  4. Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes  • In the role made famous by Marilyn Monroe, she wears a diamond ensemble where the central stone was the 24.04 carats Moon of Baroda. The yellow diamond had been owned previously by the Empress of Austria and Marie Antoinette of France. The iconic diamond is believed to be now in a private collection. These are some of the famous pieces of jewelry in Hollywood movies.
