  1.  Iconic Jewelry from the Classic Movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s Even after almost six decades of the release of the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s, replicas of the jewelry worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film are still head-turners at any gathering. This is primarily because of the aura around the actress, the matching costumes she wore in some of the scenes and finally, the reputation of the Tiffany store. Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) declares in the film - “Well, when I get (the mean reds) the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany’s. It calms me down right away”. Here are a few scenes that bring out the best ofAudrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's jewelry and costumes.

  2. The Opening Scene The audience gets the first look at Holly Golightly as she steps down early morning from a taxi on a deserted New York street and walks slowly towards the Tiffany store. The famous black dress in the scene was designed by Hubert de Givenchy, a personal friend of the actress. She has on a pair of elbow-length satin gloves, tortoiseshell Oliver Goldsmith glasses and a five-strand gorgeous pearl necklace topped by a diamond hair accessory. The necklace was designed by Roger Scemama, a French jewelry designer who collaborated with haute-couture design houses like Givenchy, Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent. The pearl necklace neatly falls around the shoulders of Audrey Hepburn and emphasizes the low-cut back of the dress.

  3. The House Party LBD and Maxi Necklace Early in the film, Holly Golightly invites Paul Varjak (George Peppard) over for drinks at her apartment. She wears a little black dress and a statement necklace. The bib necklace is very impressive and is made of glass beads, plastic pearls, and black painted enamel chains. It is as good as any other costume jewelry can be. Although the designer of the jewelry is specifically not known, it is often accredited to costume designer Edith Head. She wears the same dress again when Holly learns that her ex-husband is in New York but this time as a part of the collection of Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's jewelry, wears a pair of brilliant diamond earrings.

  4. The Tiara and the Pink Dress In a very memorable scene, Holly returns to her apartment with her new Brazilian beau Jose da Silva Pereira. Her happiness disappears when she learns from a telegram that her beloved brother Fred has been killed in a jeep accident. Holly’s brilliant and cheerful pink dress in the scene is in sharp contrast to her grief. The pink silk cocktail dress is dotted with fan-shaped green rhinestones. The Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany's jewelry here is a pink rhinestone tiara pinned high on her hairdo.  Incidentally, this dress sold in 2007 at a Christie’s auction for a stunning $192,000, more than six times the pre-sale estimate.
