  3. Expectations for Students • Be on time every day • Have all supplies every day • Follow all classroom rules • Complete assignments to the best of your ability and in a timely manner • Be focused and try your best in class

  5. Syllabus Time • Your homework: • Give the syllabus to your parents (they can keep it) • Have your parents fill out the Parent Survey (due back here by Wednesday August 22) • Begin getting supplies (especially the Composition Book—you’ll need it by Monday August 27)

Tuesday August 21 • On your note card, please write • 5 questions you have about your teacher OR • 5 facts about yourself OR • a combination of questions about your teacher and facts about yourself. Example question: What is Mrs. Thorsen’s favorite color? Example fact: My favorite sport is swimming.

  21. Wednesday August 22 • Hand in the parent and student survey before class begins (in your class’s tray) • On your notecard, write about what you would study if you were a scientist.

  22. Complete the Scientists Worksheet • If you finish early, write a paragraph about what kind of scientist you would be, what you would study, and why you want to be this kind of scientist.

  23. BOY Exam • Tomorrow you will have a test over a lot of the material that we will be covering this year. • Don’t panic!!! It’s not going in the grade book. • It lets us both know your strengths and weaknesses individually and as a class • It is VERY important that you do the best you can. Try to answer every question. • It will take all hour, so come into class ready to begin right away.
