  5. Temperatures affect Precipitation • Water freezes at 32 degreees Fahrenheit. • What happens when the air and ground temperature is below 32 degrees Fahrenheit?

  6. Atmosphere affects precipitation • Looking at this picture what can you infer about the temperature higher up on the mountain. • If precipitation were to happen if you were at the base of the mountain do you think you would experience snow or rain.

  7. HAIL • Hail is formed when small ice particles are falling towards the earth and on the way down collides other rain or snow particles and forms pebble size ice cubes. • Hail can cause some damages!
