  1. Modernization of a Vietnam War Era Airborne Line Scanner RIT Computer Engineering Senior Design Project Patrick O’Brien, Matthew Weinstock Fall 2005 The purpose of the modernization of an Vietnam War Era airborne imaging line scanner is to obtain aerial scans that utilizes digital data acquisition. The software produced will now be able to reproduce the scan during flight, unlike the previous model. This project was funded and made possible by RIT Imaging Science and the National Forest Service A typical F-4 Phantom Wild Weasel which would have the scanner mounted under its nose • User Interface Designed For: • Image location displayed after scan/processing • Easy-to-Read on or off • Simple to use, with minimal effort The software ENVI was used to process the data collected and displayed a recognizable fashion The eventual system will be tied to GPS and powered by the airplane PCB123 Schematic of the Buffer Board Patrick O’Brien pso7025@rit.edu Matthew Weinstock mdw4361@rit.edu Software model
