Learning grows from the child’s direct actions on thematerials.
Children have opportunities to explore with all their senses.
Children have opportunities to manipulate, combine & transform chosen materials.
The opportunity to choose activities and materials is essential.
Children communicate needs, feelings, discoveries, and ideas through: • Motions • Gestures • Facial expressions • Sounds • Words
Adults value, attend to, & encourage the child’s communications & languagein a give & take manner.
Adults establish & maintain trusting relationships with each child in their care
Adults recognize & encourageeach child’s: • Intentions • Actions • Interactions • Communications • Explorations • Problem Solving • Creativity
