Pupil Premium Support Assistants (2 posts) Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Full time, Term Time Only, 8.30am- 4.30pm (Mon to Thurs., 4pm –Friday) Grade 6, points 21- 26, £19510-£22668 (pro rata £ 16422-£19080) These are temporary posts until August 2015 which may be extended - depending on funding Start date: 1st September 2014 (or sooner if possible) Parklands High School is a popular and high-achieving school. Levels of achievement have increased markedly over the past three years, along with many other key aspects of the school’s provision. The Pupil Premium is a national government initiative to help raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. At Parklands we have invested heavily to promote the development of our pupils and staff are encouraged to be innovative and reflective in their practice. The successful candidates will be responsible to the Assistant Headteacher for Student Support and Inclusion, but will work closely with the Achievement Team, teaching staff and additional support staff. You will be asked to work with either KS3 or KS4 Pupil Premium pupils in a range of capacities. In the main you will be expected to provide in-class support for those who may be underachieving in the core subjects of Maths, English and Science, but are not identified as having Special Educational Needs. You will also be required to offer 1:1 intervention, small group work and targeted breakfast, lunchtime and after-school clubs. You may also be asked to provide resources for pupils and attend all meeting and appropriate training events . Candidates should complete an electronic application form, available from the school website.
