Honoring Sam Houston: The Face of Texas Independence

In commemorating the great heroes of the Texas Revolution, I choose Sam Houston for my dollar bill representation. Houston led the Texan army to a historic victory at the Battle of San Jacinto, decisively defeating Mexican forces. His leadership and vision contributed to Texas declaring independence and the establishment of itself as a republic, with Houston becoming its first president. His legacy as an inspirational leader and statesman remains vital to Texas history. Well done, Sam Houston!

  3. Reason I choose Sam Houston • I choose Sam Houston for the face of my dollar bill. I choose him because he led the Texan army to a victory against the Mexicans in San Jacinto. He became the 1st president of Texas. He was an inspirational leader and a great president. Well done Sam Houston.
