Jedná se zejména o termíny z oblasti biologie a chemie. Studenti odhadují na základě svých znalostí význam slov. V případě potřeby pracují se slovníkem.

Substances and mixtures • substances mean chemical elements or their compounds in the natural state or obtained by any processwithout affecting the stability of the substance • mixtures are composed of two or more substanceswhich do not reacttogether and wecanseparateconstituents of a mixture using simple mechanical means, such as filteringorevaporation

  5. Homogeneous mixture • a homogeneous mixture is a mixture where the components ofthemixture are uniformly distributed throughout the mixture • e. g. air, blood, saturated sugar water

  6. Heterogeneousmixture • in a heterogeneous mixture the components of the mixture are not uniform or they are with different properties • e. g. oil and water, soup,rocks
