Brief introduction • Government College Technology for Women, (GCTW) Lahore is an old and prestigious foundation which was established in 1960, since then it has been rendering its services especially for the middle and lower middle class in Punjab and Pakistan. • The first group of teachers has been trained by Intel in 2009 and the course they had attended was “TEO”. Many of the Intel MTs trained teachers are making difference by utilizing ICT in various disciplines. Have a look what revolution Intel created at our Institute. This change will reflect through pictures.

  3. Continued…. • Before Training teachers were using traditional lecture methods in their class room practices but now PBL is approach is being used in various departments. Even for the subjects of languages and Fine arts etc. • Here in this presentation few glimpse of students’ activity are captures. This is description of just one department. I shall present PBL based work of other departments of our college in coming days.

  4. Department of Dress Designing & making (DDM) In this department drawing is considered to be the compulsory subject and this time students took college beatification project as their final assignment. This change was a part of using PBL technique. For this purpose three groups of Grade-12 students selected each side of the college façade to show the magic of their skill.

  5. First students makes outlines and draw indigenous motifs and then color it with bright traditional folk colors of Pakistan

  6. One group selected the theme of regional pottery to depict on the walls (Art & Craft of Pakistan)

  8. Miniature and figure portrait was the topic of another group of the same class

  10. Sketching/Drawing session Students take digital photographs of any subject and draw it on canvas in an enlarge size.

  11. Displayed class work Sometimes their assignment is to draw and colour it from magazines and newspapers for practice. The teacher scores them in accordance to mastery over line and colour

  13. Eagerness of Students for completing the work is well depicted here. Their target was to paint just façade of the institute but they colored the water dispenser area in same vibrant regional colors. Complete work Students’ completing assignment
