  2. Directions • Use front and back of index cards • Include all items on slide • After presentation you will add a picture that will help you remember the definition (so leave a spot for the drawing on your card) • Staple all cards together at the end of period

  3. Vocabulary • Projection • Noun • Definition: Something that juts out from a surface • Latin prefix: pro- before, forward • Sentence: Tom Benecke stood on a projection high above Lexington Avenue.

  4. Exhalation • Noun • Definition: breath; something breathed out • Greek Root: ex- away from, out • Sentence: After holding his breath for so long, his exhalation was a relief.

  5. Imperceptibly • Adjective • Definition: in such a slight was as to be almost unnoticeable • Latin root: im- in • Sentence: Tom moved along the ledge almost imperceptibly because he was afraid to move.

  6. Rebounded • Verb • Definition: bounced back • Latin root: re- again • Sentence: Tom’s body rebounded with the force of the impact.

  7. Irrelevantly • Adjective • Definition: in a way not relating to the point or situation • Latin root: ir- not • Sentence: Thoughts occurred to Tom irrelevantly as he clung to the narrow ledge.

  8. Anticipatory Set • Answer worksheet. • Mark a check on agree/disagree. • Give complete sentence for reasoning. • This is an independent activity.
