National program of certification of environmental friendly services in an tourism • Have not been agreed but helped to start close cooperation with: • Associations of tour operators • Ministry for Regional Development • CzechTourism – Czech tourist authority • Universities • The Czech Association of hotels and restaurants – environmental section

  3. Activities • Workshops for hoteliers • (in cooperation with Energon – Austrian consultative company) • Take a part on Holiday World – the bigest tourist fair in the Czech Republic

  4. Experience - Opinions • Pros • Competition – advantage • „Widely“ recognised • Same criteria for whole Europe • Ready for future • Economic benefit • Cons (Fear) • Costs • Will come mandatory • Would not by possibly to satisfy a customer

  5. Experience • Hotels and other sites fulfil criteria already • X • but they do not see a reason why ask for ecolabel • Why → measures safe money • One „professional man“ can reverse a situation

  6. Result • It is important to discuss the issue • Involve all stakeholders • Explain all aspects • Make trustful relationship • Make an incentive – marketing, GPP
