BUSINESS IN BERMUDA • The international business sector contributes an estimated $1350 million to the economy annually. • More than 13,000 international companies are registered in Bermuda • 2,000 insurance companies registered with assets in excess of $230 billion • 1,400 investment schemes registered with net assets in excess of $60 billion

BERMUDA FACTS • Bermuda is one of the more densely populated countries with 68,500 people living in just 20.75 square miles • Bermuda is the oldest of the British crown colonies with representative government being introduced in 1620. It is now self governing, however, the UK remains responsible for defence and foreign affairs. • Bermuda has unique connections with the USA in history, commerce, culture, education, tourism and trade. 82% of all tourists and business visitors and more than 70% of all imports come from America • The Bermuda dollar is on par with the US dollar and the two currencies are used interchangeably on the island.
