Number Of Allotted Absences • 4 absences per semester in any group under singers jurisdiction • A 5th absence will result in being asked not to perform and a loss of Priority Points • Warning letter sent on 4th absence • Members with class conflicts are allowed 3 absences per semester • A 4th absence will result in being asked not to perform and a loss of Priority Points • Warning letter sent on 3rd absence

  4. Late Arrival • Members who are more than 7 minutes late will be marked late for the rehearsals and concerts • 2 lates=1 absence

  5. Dress Rehearsals and Concerts • Missing the final dress rehearsal before any event will count as 2 absences • Members MUST participate in ALL mandatory concerts, events, and preparatory duties (Crews)

  6. Crews • Every member is required to participate in a minimum of 1 crew per semester • Under extenuating circumstances, such as medical issues, that person will be assigned to a replacement/library crew • If you have any questions, problems, or miss a crew you are required to contact the Chief of Crews (Stephen Azierski) • Failure to contact the Chief of Crews with result in loss of a priority point or another equivalent response • If a member misses a crew they will be required to make it up

  7. Excusal Letters • Do not submit an excusal letter unless you are missing a 5th absence or a concert/dress rehearsal • Submit excusal letters no later than 1 week prior to missing a general rehearsal and 2 weeks prior to missing a dress rehearsal or concert • Letters MUST be submitted to Marist.singers@gmail.com even if you haven spoken to your attendance person or Sarah (They can also be given to the VP of attendance- Elle Guerin)

  8. Common Excusal Types • Prior Commitments-Need specifics, 1 or 2 weeks notice • Family Emergencies-Need detailed information • Class Conflict (i.e. class trip, professor meeting; NOT group project) • Sickness-Need Doctors Note! • If you have 5 (or 4) absences and want to be excused for one of the sicknesses, you MUST have a Doctors note (Health Services)

  9. MCCTA Excusals • Any absences due to MCCTA rehearsals/shows are considered unexcused absences • REMEMBER: People who only attend Singers once a week (due to night class) only have 3 allotted absences

  10. Penalties • Unexcused absences from mandatory events will result in a loss of Priority Points • May result in being asked not to perform

  11. Member Responsibility • Members should keep track of their own absences • Be Responsible • Attend rehearsals • Be on time • Sign in with your attendance person at all special events
