  3. ¿Quién LO HIZO? • La periodicidad de las propiedades físicas y químicas, habría que atribuir la primera tabla periódica (publicada en 1862) al geólogo francés, A.E. Beguyer de Chancourtois .

  4. ¿EN QUE CONSISTE? • Consistía en una hélice en la que los elementos se hallaban dispuestos según un orden creciente de pesos atómicos alrededor de un cilindro. • Cada vuelta contenía 16 elementos y el telurio ocupaba el lugar central. Así, los puntos que se correspondían sobre las sucesivas vueltas de la hélice diferían en 16 unidades de pesos atómicos, y en cada uno de esos puntos se ubicaban los elementos con propiedades semejantes. • Luego se dijo que las propiedades de los elementos químicos se relacionaban con el número atómico que el elemento ocupaba en la secuencia.
