The use of library resources is vital for pursuing study and research. • It is an integral part of the University and designed to meet the information, research, and curriculum needs of its students, faculty and staff members. It has comprehensive collections to meet the needs of its users. • The Library provides a variety of services designed to support students, faculty members, researchers, and staff members of East West University

Its vision is to be a centre for learning and research and a national leader in the cultivation of information literacy and next generation library service provider. Mission: EWU Library's mission is to support the university community in developing skills in innovative and analytical thinking in research and in information literacy, and by providing distinctive collections, services, facilities and programs. The mission statement contains our core business.

Online User Registration • Fill out online library membership registrationform through the following link:http://lib.ewubd.edu • Send a scanned copy of PP size photograph (Up to 50KB) with EWU ID to • library.ewu@gmail.com within 07 days from the date of registration. • Bring your EWU ID Card and Original Pay Slip of tuition fees of current semester to the Library Circulation Desk • To activate the membership you have to attend the Information Literacy program. You can register yourself for this program

  12. Membership Renew Continuing students have to renew the library membership card in each semester by submitting the current semester’s Original Pay Slip of tuition fees along with the EWU ID card at Library Circulation Desk.

  15. Baggage Counter Facilities Library users may avail PIGEON-HOLE FACILITIES (Ground floor, Block B) to keep their personal books, umbrellas, jackets, bags, attaches, briefcases, newspapers, helmets etc. before entrance into the library.

Library Sections • Reference Section: • Pure Reference Materials:Do you know what is pure reference ? • Readers often have to consult books and materials, such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, Yearbooks etc. for specific data or information. Normally, a reader would not need to remove such books from this section. These books are never issued to any one, but are used for Photocopy. • Pure Reference Materials: • Encyclopedias, handbooks, Yearbooks • Dissertations • Annual reports, Yearbooks • Maps, Atlases • Search corner for online journals and library database • Newspaper clipping service • Study space

  24. Movement of Library Materials Please do not move any books or other library materials from one section to another. One section to another

  25. Borrowing Facility Students Overdue : A fine of taka 25/- per day for each text book A fine of taka 5/- per day for each CD/DVD-ROM. Undergraduate and Graduate students are entitled to borrow two textbooks and one CD/DVD-ROM at a time for 7 days.

Borrowing Facility • Reference books, journals, magazines, reports and confined materials cannot be borrowed • One cannot borrow a book or CD/DVD of same title more than one time without break. • Replacement for lost book/CD/DVD-ROM by a new copy of the same author(s), title, and edition. or compensation must be paid as determined by the library authority.
