  2. Develop a strategic plan that provides a vision for what the Office of First Year Programs (FYP) should become.   • Consider how the Office of FYP could grow to support undergraduate students more broadly at all levels. Provost’s Charge for the Project

  3. Review CSUSM’s Foundations of Excellence Report • Identify national professional organizations that focus on first-year and undergraduate experiences • Review CSU FYPs and undergraduate programs • Identify successful FYPs and undergraduate programs beyond the CSU Casting the Research Net

What are the curricular hallmarks of each program? • What has made the program a “star” program? • Which courses are included in FYP? • What is the organizational structure of the program? • How does FYP fit into the organizational structure of the campus? • What is the link between FYP and undergraduate studies? • How are FYP and undergraduate studies supported by the campus? Our Research Questions

  5. Create an FYP and Undergraduate Studies Task Force (Fall 13) • Develop a plan for FYP and Undergraduate Studies for our growing campus (Fall/Spring) • Submit our recommendations to the Provost (Spring 2014) Next Steps
