  4. MCRUD Steering Committee • Volunteer • Meets monthly • Made up of agencies, organizations, and individuals • Sets policy and makes decisions • Hears from Regional Coalition representatives • “Steers” the statewide Coalition

  6. Regional Coalitions • 26 throughout state • Three year funding cycle • Different levels of funding and activity • Youth involvement • From neighborhoods to multi county

  8. MCRUD Grant Program • Reviewed and awarded by committee • Currently grants are available for up to $2,500 • Event planning must include target audience (most often youth) • Program must take a primary prevention approach to prevent and reduce underage drinking at the local or regional level

  9. Teen Leadership Team (TLT) • Strengthen local initiatives by training and providing networking opportunities for teens • Made up of teens who are active locally in reducing underage drinking • Teens do not have to be part of a MCRUD Regional Coalition to join • The TLT is the “voice” of MCRUD at conferences, for the media and at legislative events

  10. Teen Leadership Team • Initial planning retreat in January 2001 • International Collaborative Teen Conference in July 2002 • National Alcohol Policy Conference in March 2003 • Summer Advocate training in July 2003
