  1. Seed Market in Pakistan – Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends, and Forecast The seed market in Pakistan is projected to expand at a CAGR of 5.1%, during the forecast period, 2021-2028. Growth of the market is attributed to rising demand from the agriculture sector. Pakistan has a continental type of climate characterized by extreme variations in temperature and rainfall. Pakistan is generally dry and has low rainfall. The Himalayas and Kashmir mountains are the main sources of irrigation water. In Pakistan 58.5 million hector is arable land of which 22 million hector is under cultivation. Cereals, legumes, and cash crop occupy 16% of the cropped area. Oilseeds, vegetables, condiments, and fruits occupy the remaining 21% of the cultivated area. The government of Pakistan prioritizes agricultural research sector. The national seed council (NSC) is the supreme body for formulating national policies and regulating the seed sector. It approves seed standards and regulates interprovincial movements of seed. The council represents all institutions concerned with the development of the seed industry in Pakistan. Government privatization policies have encouraged private sector plant breeding. Multinational seed companies have started introducing, testing, and submitting their hybrid varieties of maize, sorghum, sunflower, and sudax for registration and release. In practice, more than 90% of cereal seed requirements, as well as nearly all legume, oilseed, and fodder crop requirements, were met by other sources, primarily the private sector. Onion and tomatoes are the most important vegetable crop grown extensively in tropical and sub-tropical climate. Pakistan’s seed sector is dependent on two key regulations, the seed amendment act of 2015 and the plant breeder rights act 2018. Pakistan is both a producer and importer of hybrid crops and products. With the introduction of the kisan card, Pakistan has achieved a long-term goal of agricultural development. The scheme unites 3.5 million farmers under a centralized system that streamlines the issuance of loans and subsidies while tracking the farmers' entire farming activity. Subsidies for cotton, wheat, rice, sunflower, and canola seeds, as well as fertilizer funds, would be administered through it.

  2. Market Trends, Drivers, Restraints, and Opportunities Increasing initiatives and support from government is projected to drive the market. Increasing hybrid seeds has encouraged the producers to produce more seeds; this in turn has fueled the market. Increasing export of seeds from the country is anticipated to create immense opportunities for the market players.    Sample - https://growthmarketreports.com/request-sample/1729 Market Segment Insights The transgenic segment is estimated to hold a major market share during the forecast period Based on types, the seed market in Pakistan is segregated into transgenic, non-transgenic, and open pollinated.
