Pre – Project Public Health Nurse 0.60wte Staff Nurses 1.73wte HCA 0.52wte Support from PHN/ HV teams in Primary schools and pre –fives provision New Team Public Health Nurse 1.80wte Staff Nurses 1.73wte HCA 0.52wte Family Support 2.4wte SALT 0.5wte Teacher and SA 0.5wte Mental Health 1.0wte Schools Team

  5. Pre –project Team • HV contact in nursery • Primary 1 measurement and interviews • Hand hygiene • Immunisation DTP /HPV • Response to A and E forms • Nurse led clinics • Child Protection • Some curriculum support

New programme Developed from inter-agency discussions and evidence: • Addresses stated health needs of young people, families and schools • Takes account of priorities within Single Outcome Agreement and CHP plan (HEAT targets etc) (workforce planning) • Based on GIRFEC principles / inclusive of disability • Seeks to address causes rather than symptoms • Integrated approach –developing core team/wider circles of influence • Child and Family at the Centre /early interventions • Sustainability is key

  8. Programme • Parenting (suite of inter-agency options) Lead:PHN • Communication (P1/ P2) Lead SALT • Nutrition (P7/S1/S2) Lead PHN/Health Promotion • Self esteem and confidence building (S3/4) Lead Primary Mental Health

  9. Team Approach • Parenting is over-arching programme • Sub groups reporting to steering group • Co-location • Logic modelling • Reflective diaries • Joint training • Reports locally across NHS Forth Valley and Clackmannanshire Council

Parenting programmes Family Support Increased service to children with additional needs Developed an evening drop in linked to youth services School lunchtime drop in being developed Health assessments for all Secondary support students Support to schools re sexual health and relationships programme Youth smoking cessation service Young carers group Focus groups with young people Progress to date
