  3. WARMUP: FILL OUT THE INFORMATION AT THE TOP OF YOUR EARTHKAM CHART.

  4. FIRST DECIDE WHAT YOU AND YOUR PARTNER WANT TO STUDY. This mission is targeted to take images of different climate zones.

  5. Mark possible sites on your world map.

  6. NEXT LOG ONTO EARTHKAMhttp://www.earthkam.ucsd.edu • Use this login: mardelas • Use this password: earthkam

  7. Click on SMOC

  8. Click on status page. Look for the orange bar – copy down the orbit number in the corner or your paper. – this is the FIRST orbit you can use today – you canNOT request an orbit before this number.

  9. CLICK ON the WEATHER tab to look for UNCLOUDY areas.

  10. Click on the tab that says Map.

  11. CHOOSE ONE OF THE GROUND TRACKS WHICH GOES OVER THE AREA YOU WANT TO PHOTOGRAPH.

  12. CLICK ON THE MAP AND ZOOM IN, REMEMBER WE ARE TARGETING DIFFERENT CLIMATE ZONES.

  13. COPY ALL OF THE INFORMATION ON YOUR EARTHKAM CHART.

  14. Record the orbit number, GMT, Latitude and Longitude AND YOUR CODEWORD.

  15. Open the Photo Entry in another tab and enter your codeword you received.

  16. Enter all the information requested on the photo entry page. Click on send Photo Selection

  17. Congratulations – when you see this you correctly submitted your request. Make sure all the info is entered on your Actual Image Request Chart!!

  18. You and your partner are ready to find another location to photograph!
