LOCATION “EWE” - November2012 SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET (SPAIN) • Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona): • 120.000 unhabitants. • 22% of migrant population. • Morocco • China • Pakistan • Bangla Desh • Romania • South American countries (Ecuador, Colombia, Perú, Bolivia, …) • 95% of population with migration background (from other regions of Spain). • Unemployment rate: 24%. • Unemployment rate young p.: 54% • No industry. • 80% of labor force moves to other cities to work (Barcelona,…).

  3. “EWE” - November 2012 SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET (SPAIN) “M.E.I.N.” Project 2008 Wuppertal Baobab introduction and purposes • Baobab Association is a private non-profit association created in 2001 by a professional team of experts in training and investigation. • The main goal is the development of projects, systems and strategies to help in the development of Human Resources working with groups in risk of social exclusion. • Targets are basically associations, non-profit organisations and public administrations, whose main objective is the social and laboral integration of migrant people, children and young people as well as senior citizens and women in risk of social exclusion.

  4. “EWE” - November 2012 SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET (SPAIN) “M.E.I.N.” Project 2008 Wuppertal Objectives and target groups of Baobab: • Our priority is to offer: • Orientation services • Training courses • Costumers consulting service • Our target groups are: • Children and young people • Adults in situation and/or risk of social exclusion • Migrant and ethnic minorities • Unemployed people • Senior citizens

  5. “EWE” - November 2012 SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET (SPAIN) “M.E.I.N.” Project 2008 Wuppertal The work of Baobab: • Study the needs of continuous training for trainers. • Building training strategies (through studies, projects, lessons among others) • Management and evaluation of the results. • Creation of methodologic tools and instruments in order to reach the training objectives of the organisations. • Optimization of the technical, human and economic resources.

  6. “EWE” - November 2012 SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET (SPAIN) “M.E.I.N.” Project 2008 Wuppertal Previous projects: Grundtvigprojects • “LIGHT” Development and implementation of a Social Mobility Model for the social integration of senior citizens, migrant peole and unemployed women. • “Parents as Successful Teachers” Creation of a methodological tool for parents who desire to help their children in the learning of foreign languages. • “Committed Parents” Training course to work with migrant parents in family education”. Design and implementation of a Grundtvig training course directed to professionals working with migrant parents in family education. • “Migrants Decision”. Learning partnership for the dissemination of the best practices in migration and training offer for migrants in the EU. • “Parents as Family Vocational Advisors for Children”. Design of a training course to train parents to advise their children in choosing their professional career. • “Building Bridges”. Learning partnership for the dissemination of the best practices in migration and training offer for migrants in the EU.

Prevention of bullying in the schools. • ATTEMPT. Development of attractive techniques to empower parents and teachers in the prevention of bullying. Erasmus program: • “Web Access” Design and elaboration of a protocol for the elaboration of websites adapted for disabled users (deaf people, blinded people,…) Comenius program • “LabLearning”. Laboratory for development of learning tools for young people.
